Children with and without disabilities interact and play together in classrooms that provide stimulating learning environments. Both Rainbow's End locations are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department Public Welfare and are participants in Keystone STARS, an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning to improve, support, and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs in Pennsylvania. In addition, the Washington Location is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
A summer program is also available for children ages 5 through 12 years at both locations. This program is educationally-based around many fun summer activities including outdoor play and field trips. The Washington center offers an additional program, Pre-K Counts. It is free to families who qualify, and children may attend from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Our Philosophy
Our program's philosophy is developed around an educationally based, hands - on approach to learning, utilizing the Creative Curriculum. This philosophy is adapted to meet the individual needs of the children in each classroom environment, infancy (6 weeks of age) through elementary school age (12 years old).

Washington Fair Fieldtrip
Grab your red shirt and prepare to hold your noses, Rainbow's End Learning Center in Washington took a fieldtrip to the Washington County Fair on August 20, 2010. The 3 and 4 yr. Preschool classes, along with the School-Age Summer Program classes joined forces to visit the barns and see some blue prize animals. The petting zoo was the highlight of the trip where the children got up close and personal with goats, sheep, and even a Turkey! Congratulations to Rainbow's End students for correctly identifying the turkey and helping to explain to other children that it was not a chicken.
Cinderella Ball
It was a magical morning on July 22, 2010 for the children at Rainbow's End Learning Center in Washington. All the young ladies were greeted outside by Prince Charming and received their flowers, while the gentlemen patiently waited wearing their crowns to be escorted to the Alpine Bowling lane, by limousine, for the Annual Cinderella Ball. The staff, children, and some consumers from the Older Adult Living Program danced the morning away in their best dresses and suits, while enjoying cake and punch. As always, the Cinderella Ball was a highlight of the summer and Rainbow's End would like to thank everyone who donated items and their time to create such a special memory for the children.
